Pre-Draft Outlook

As long as LeBron James and Luka Doncic are a tandem, the Lakers are looking to compete hard for a title. Whether that’s realistic or not, who knows, but this isn’t a team ready to turn itself over to young and inexperienced players right now. If anything, the Lakers will look to unload some of their youth, or maybe even Austin Reaves, to bulk up with a third star and put a foot to the gas pedal.

The Way To Go

Oh, look — the Lakers have the No. 55 pick. We don’t know whom they’re taking, but it’s a safe bet there won’t be anywhere near the attention paid to last year’s 55th pick, when they selected the son of a certain legend. This selection has NBA G League written all over it. A candidate could be 24-year-old guard John Tonje, who averaged a cool 22 points for Wisconsin.
