Overview
Beringer was born in Sélestat, France, but moved to Strasbourg at 10 years old. He grew up playing soccer and claimed to have never touched a basketball until the summer of 2021. However, he was pressured to play basketball by his friends due to his height, and played for the U17 team for Strasbourg Saint-Joseph Basket. Beringer joined SIG Strasbourg in 2022 and played for their U18 squad and later for the U21 prospects team. Beringer also competed for France at the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship. In the summer of 2024, he moved to Slovenia to join Cedevita Olimpija. Beringer was initially set to play for the club’s reserve squad but impressed the coaches in practices and was promoted to the senior team before appearing in a game. At 18 years old, Beringer averaged 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 18.2 minutes across 54 appearances while helping Cedevita Olimpija win the 2024-25 Slovenian Basketball Cup.

Analysis
Beringer is adept at using his athleticism and quick first step to face up and blow by slow-footed big men. At 6-foot-11, he scores primarily as a lob threat and cutter in the pick-and-roll, but he is also a capable and willing passer in the short roll. Defensively, Beringer stays vertical to block shots at the rim while possessing impressive footwork in front of smaller guards on switches.

Quotable
“It’s normal for him to improve, but not this fast. No one expected this. But the combination of his genetic predispositions, his work ethic, his humility and his ability to manage his emotions – it’s scary.” – Abdel Loucif, Beringer’s former club coach in France, to FIBA.com

Some stats & tidbits
In the 2024-25 regular season, Beringer ranked second in the Adriatic League in blocks with 1.47 per game Did not start playing basketball until the summer of 2021 … Childhood passion was soccer; tried a new sport after outgrowing cleat size … Participated briefly in judo prior to basketball

Projection
Beringer’s skillset is a blend of Jaxson Hayes’ and Larry Nance’s, as he will likely score most of his points at the next level as an athletic rim-runner. He is most comfortable in the pick-and-roll as a lob threat or passer in the short roll. While Beringer may need to fill out his frame to be a full-time center, his quick feet and athleticism allow him to guard multiple positions on the defensive end.
