Overview
Zuby Ejiofor spent his freshman year at Kansas before taking his talents to St. John’s for his sophomore and junior seasons. He broke out for the Red Storm in 2024-25, posting averages of 14.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 blocks on 57.7% shooting in 31.8 minutes per game. The breakout resulted in selections for the NABC North Atlantic District First Team, All-Big East First Team and Big East All-Tournament Team, and he was also named Big East Most Improved Player.
Analysis
Ejiofor is physically imposing on the court, particularly in the low post and on the offensive glass. At 6-foot-9, 240 pounds, the athletic forward uses his strength to his advantage against taller defenders as he likes to attack the basket by posting or facing up. He’s got a nice touch on his shot, can finish with either hand, is great at running the floor, excels on the glass, and has shown growth in the pick-and-roll and his overall feel for the game. He has a knack for getting down hill and finishing through contact.
Projection
The combination of size and strength mixed with Ejiofor’s propensity for creating extra opportunities on the glass would make him an ideal depth piece in the frontcourt for a number of NBA teams. Playing for a coach like John Calipari at St. John’s has also been beneficial for the Texas native as he’s improved at setting screens, defending, handling the rock and playing within a system. He shot 22.2% from 3 this past season on 1.2 attempts per game, so continuing to work on his range would only help his already solid offensive game. Ejiofor has the size and similar skillsets to Isaiah Stewart and Jarace Walker.
